The Historical Game of Chess
Chess is a recreational game which is played all over the world. It is a mind game played between two players. The current game of chess has emerged from 15th century. Today the game of chess is the most famous game in the whole world and is played at homes, clubs, online and in various tournaments.
The game is played on a square chessboard. Only two players can play the game at a time. There are sixteen pieces at one side of the chess board and sixteen on the other. The pieces include one king and a queen, two rooks, two bishops, two knights and eight pawns. Each piece has a distinctive move from the other. The objective of the game is to checkmate the enemy king and when there is no way no move in the next move and win the game.
A player gets only one chance at a time to defeat the opposite player. There are a lot of types of chess games and with different rules that are played today. A game can last from ten minutes to more than five hours. It is a game which has to be played by various strategies and the players tactics.
The game of chess is divided into three phases, first the opening which includes the first 25 moves in which the players move their chess pieces into useful positions and get them ready for battle.
Then it is followed by the middle game which is the fiercest part of the whole game as most of the pieces fall in this part showing the true colours of the players. Then the phase of end game starts where only a few important pieces along with the king are left and this is the part where the actual skill of the player can be witnessed.
All the pieces in the game of chess have their own importance as they are needed for help at one time or the other in the game.
